About Me
Amy Zhou is a PhD candidate in the department of Biostatistics at Harvard University. Her current research focuses on semi-competing risks under the case-cohort study design. She is advised by Dr. Sebastien Haneuse, and her committee members include Dr. Kyu Ha Lee, Dr. Briana Stephenson, and Dr. Stephanie Lee. Amy received her AM in Biostatistics from Harvard University, MS in Biostatistics from Northwestern University, and BA in Chemistry from Wellesley College.
Amy is passionate about promoting diversity in STEM. She served as the Co-Chair and Chair of Harvard Graduate Women in Science & Engineering at Harvard University from 2020-2022 and as the Co-President for the Biostatistics PhD student committee from 2022-2024. She has also been involved with other leadership roles such as instructor for StatStart in 2021 and 2022, on the planning committee for Harvard’s inaugural Florence Nightingale Day in 2022 and Data Adventure Day in 2023, and program representative and committee member for the conference grants committee and student group funding committee for the Harvard Griffin Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS) Student Council.
Outside of her research and volunteer work, Amy loves to spend time with her Shiba Inu, read fantasy/science fiction books, and bake.
